How do i get my wireless 2wire modem router to talk to my netgear usb wireless adapter?

I have the router set up and it can access the internet only when connect to my computer with a ethernet cable. So internet access is fine. The light for DSL, internet, wireless and ethernet are all green. The USB adapter locates a wireless network and shows excellent strangth. I just cannot get it to link to the router and obviously then i can't connect wirelessly to the internet.

Your firewall on both computers as stopping commection you need to setup firewall to allow the ip address on both computers, trusted ips, you can see if the your computer is seeing the router by by going into to doss you can do this by typing cmd at the run command then typing ipconfig / all if you see the default gateway ip something like this 192.168.1.1 then your computers are seeing the routher then its almost positive that it is your firewalls stopping the connection,
