Is there a way i can extend my 15 pin VGA cable with cable i might have around the house?

Call me cheap but i would like to extend my 15 pin VGA cable with cable i may already have at home. The cable will go from my laptop into my LCD tv so i can watch the match on a bigger screen. I have tried to find a diagram of a cross section on the internet cos i don't just want to cut it in half yet but can't find anything.

It wont work well The impedances will be wrong and if unscreened, you will get interference.

You need separately screened cores for red green and blue.
The screens are independent too.
Buy a lead and save yourself a hard time.
You can't extend it very far without quality loss.

For long runs I've used a floating current source for each of the 5 main signals, terminated with 75R at the receiver.
