Printer Device

Can I connect a device (say a printer) to 2 routers through a splitter?
Well, the thing is that we work in an office where there are 2 companies with 2 separate internet connections and networks, yet one (huge) copy/fax/scan printer. And we want to be able to share this printer amongst both networks. (Currently its hooked up to the other company's network.) Any ideas?
I've tried creating a static IP route and connecting both routers yet that still (for some odd reason) didn't work. Is there any other way?
it would be easier if you simply connected the printer to a computer that was connected to the network and then share that printer. Allow the PC to become the printer que so print jobs will not become lost.
Your thoughts are much more difficult in trying to configure yrou network.
