Connect Xbox 360 to PC using a RJ-45 cable?

I want to connect my Xbox 360 to my PC, I can play my media from my computer to my 360 ... I do this using just one RJ-45 cable (crossover cable), I do not want to buy a router / switch / hub, as I do not use broadband at home. I am running Windows XP SP2, I have a network card, I have a RJ-45 cable and an Xbox 360. if please help ... thank you in advance
