Live in non cable area and on the edge of my tele exchange, with O2 can only get 3mb Broadband any help?

Broadband is 3mb and gets used by three people in the one house no cable in the street and live on edge of the exchange any sujestions.

All you can do is make sure the ADSL connections in the house are as good as possible so you are not losing and signal (= speed).

Ideally, the O2 router should be connected directly to the BT master socket with single filter at the socket, and any/all phone extension wiring in the house should come from that same filter.

If anything other than the ADSL box runs through an extension cable, put a filter at the end nearest the BT box rather than the 'far' end.

Avoid the flat cable phone extensions, other than for normal phones & only if they are between a filter and the phone.

If you have fitted extension wiring and phone sockets, you can get a filter that replaces the connection panel at the bottom of the BT master socket and filters the extension wiring to avoid signal loss (but only if the O2 box connects directly to the master socket, otherwise the signal to that would be filtered out).

If the O2 box is plugged in to a fitted extension socket, look what logo is on the master socket.
If it's anything other than the new 'BT Openreach' logo, you can get an isolator plate that corrects a design fault in the older connection plates, without affecting proper phone or ADSL operation.

Note that the master socket filter is a newer design, it has a couple of extra terminals so you can hard-wire a dedicated external socket for the ADSL box rather than having to plug it directly in to the master socket.
